Data Sets

What we deliver.

Radiometric thermal and zoom visual readings. PDF reports, radiometric images, CSV, KML and GeoJSON.

Solar Thermal Inspection
Every module flown and read for the defects that cost generation — hot cells, bypass-diode and substring failures, whole-panel outages — returned as a located, classified defect list rather than a picture of the array. Quoted by system size in MWp, the way the industry quotes it.
Findings report · Radiometric · CSV · KML · GeoJSON
Transmission Structure Inspection
Every structure photographed to a full shot list — ID tag, each insulator string at both ends, attachment hardware, shield wire, dampers, crossarms and foundation — plus a thermal read of connections under load. Findings ranked by severity and filed by your structure IDs. Corona needs a UV camera and isn't included.
JPG · Radiometric · PDF report · KML · GeoJSON
Distribution Pole Inspection
A consistent five-shot set of every pole top — crossarms, insulators, cutouts, arresters, transformers and connectors — with a thermal read, tagged to your pole IDs and ranked by severity. Built for wildfire-mitigation and reliability programs.
JPG · Radiometric · CSV · KML · GeoJSON
Substation Thermography
Radiometric thermal of bus, switches, bushings and breakers from angles a ground survey can't reach — flown at night or overcast near peak load, every anomaly ranked by temperature rise against NETA guidance or your own criteria.
Radiometric JPG · PDF report · CSV · KML · GeoJSON
Wind Turbine Blade Inspection
Every blade on all four faces — leading edge, trailing edge, pressure and suction sides — photographed root to tip from a safe standoff with the long zoom, defects located by blade, face and radius and ranked by severity.
JPG · PDF report · CSV
Thermal Inspection
Radiometric thermal imaging of one asset, where every pixel carries a measured temperature — hot connections on electrical gear, failing mechanical plant, heat loss at roof penetrations — read and reported per asset.
Radiometric JPG · PDF report
RGB Inspection
A methodical visual survey of one structure — close-up zoom imagery of every face, connection and fitting, returned as an organized photo set and a findings report.
JPG · PDF report
IR Roof Moisture & Envelope Survey
Aerial infrared survey of the roof and walls, mapped onto a 3D model of the building so every indication has a location. Roofs are flown for ASTM C1153 conditions to locate wet insulation; walls are read for insulation gaps and thermal bridges (ASTM C1060). Delivered as capture for a certified thermographer to verify and sign — C1153 calls for core samples before a wet area is confirmed.
Radiometric · OBJ · PDF
Roof IR Scan
A quicker, lower-cost first look at the roof deck alone — radiometric imagery showing where a roof may be holding water or losing heat, without the wall passes or the 3D model. The step before a full moisture survey.
Radiometric · PDF
Hail & Storm Roof Assessment
Commercial roofs after hail or wind: zoom documentation of impacts on the membrane, flashings and soft metals, plus a night infrared pass for insulation that took on water. It documents condition — cause and coverage stay with the adjuster.

Who we fly for

Electric Utilities

Transmission structures, distribution poles and substations, inspected with zoom and thermal from a standoff you set — the hot connections and worn hardware behind outages and ignitions, found before they fail.

  • Transmission structure inspection
  • Distribution pole inspection for wildfire-mitigation programs
  • Substation thermography
  • Findings filed by your structure & pole IDs, mapped in KML & GeoJSON

Renewables

Solar arrays read module by module and wind blades face by face — the inspections a renewable portfolio runs every year, returned as findings rather than pictures.

  • Solar array thermal inspection
  • Wind turbine blade inspection
  • Collector substation thermography
  • Findings as CSV, KML & GeoJSON for your O&M system

Commercial Roofs & Buildings

Find wet insulation, heat loss, failing seals and hail damage from the air — across a whole roof in one flight, without walking it.

  • Roof moisture surveys
  • Building envelope thermography
  • Hail & storm roof assessment
  • Rooftop mechanical & electrical checks

Industrial, Plant & Towers

Thermal and zoom inspection of the equipment you would rather not climb — plant, tanks, stacks and telecom towers — read from a safe standoff while it keeps running.

  • Tank level & sludge-line detection
  • Stack, flare & vessel inspection
  • Pipe rack & insulation heat-loss surveys
  • Telecom tower & antenna mount inspection

Common Questions

What areas does Aster Aerial Systems serve?

The Colorado Front Range core — Castle Rock, Denver, Boulder, Longmont, Loveland, Fort Collins, Colorado Springs and Greeley — with travel available nationwide for larger energy and infrastructure projects.

What do you deliver?

Solar array thermal inspection; transmission structure, distribution pole and substation inspection; wind turbine blade inspection; radiometric thermal and zoom inspection of individual structures; and infrared roof, envelope and hail-damage surveys. Everything is flown and processed in house and delivered in standard formats — radiometric imagery, PDF findings reports, CSV, KML, GeoJSON and OBJ.

Are you FAA certified?

Yes — Part 107 certified remote pilot. Airspace is checked for every site, and LAANC or other FAA authorization is requested wherever the site needs it.

Can you fly near energized power lines?

Yes — from a standoff the utility agrees in writing before the job. We work within your minimum approach distances and clearance rules, and time thermal capture to when the circuit is carrying load, since connection problems only heat up under load.

How do I get a quote?

Request a mission through the site — choose the data set, mark the asset or draw the array boundary, and pick a date window. You'll get a scoped quote back; pricing depends on the site, the data set and the scope, so it isn't published generically.

What happens after I submit a request?

Nothing is booked yet, and submitting costs nothing. We review the site and email you a quote and a contract. A deposit books the date; we then fly the best day inside your window and deliver once the data clears QA.

How are deliverables sent?

Through a secure download link, in the formats listed for each data set.
